Greetings Cub Scout and Webelos leaders! I'm Pat Newton, one of the Assistant Scoutmasters from Troop 676, and I'm serving as our liaison to Cub Scout Packs this year.
Troop 676 is hosting a Webelos Hike and picnic lunch on Saturday, October 22nd. We'll meet at the Confluence Park picnic shelter in downtown Issaquah, the address is 655 Rainier Blvd North in Issaquah (behind the Darigold plant).
We will gather starting at 8:45am, then around 9:10 we'll get everyone into vehicles and head to the High Point trailhead at Exit 20 off of I-90 east of Issaquah, where we'll hike the Tradition Lake loop, an easy 2-3 mile hike. During the hike, our Boy Scouts will talk to your Webelos about the transition to Boy Scouts, and will touch on all the points of the Scout Law. Meanwhile the parents will hike with some of our Boy Scout leaders, and we can answer any questions you have about Boy Scouts and our troop.
The hike will take between 60 and 90 minutes, then we'll return to Confluence Park for a lunch of hot dogs, chips, veggies and some yummy Dutch oven desserts. (If your guests have vegetarian or other dietary requirements, please let us know.) We'll finish up between 12 and 1 o'clock. This event will take place RAIN OR SHINE, so if it's raining please plan accordingly and bring good rain gear and footwear.
As you all know, an accurate guest count is extremely helpful when planning an event, so please reach out to your dens and RSVP to me by Wednesday, October 19th. Last minute additions are of course welcome, but having a preliminary count is ideal.
If you have any questions, please email me at this address or give me a call at 206-859-9979.
Yours in Scouting,
Pat Newton
